Wolf Hawkfield has been been revealed for the new Virtua Fighter project in a special teaser trailer. No gameplay is featured in the trailer, but we get a really good look at Wolf’s redesign for the upcoming fighting game.
This makes Wolf the third character announced for the new Virtua Fighter considering that Akira and the newcomer known as Stella have already been announced. Like Akira, Wolf is a returning veteran of the Virtua Fighter series.
Typically, Wolf played like a grappler character within the Virtua Fighter games that he’s appeared in. Also typical of a grappler, Wolf tends to be one of the largest of the Virtua Fighter cast.
Though Wolf is generally pretty large and slow, he makes up for these weaknesses with his raw power. With the right openings, Wolf can shave off giant chunks of the opponent’s health bar.
As seen in the trailer, Wolf is still sporting his orange hair, but he otherwise looks completely different from how we last saw him in Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.
Wolf is sporting a lot more facial hair this time around. He’s also no longer keeping his hair controlled in a ponytail. Finally, his shoulders are now completely covered in tattoos.
Much has apparently changed for Wolf Hawkfield. During the teaser trailer, the announcer mentions that he’s back from a “controversial retirement.”
