Halftime recognition highlights 24 Hour Fitness’ role in supporting the next generation of soccer players
24 Hour Fitness recognized standout coaching talent during halftime at Saturday’s San Diego Wave vs. Portland Thorns match, where the fitness chain’s president and CEO Karl Sanft awarded a $1,000 Excellence in Coaching (EIC) check, bringing the total donated to $8,000 for outstanding coaches.
“The EIC award is something we’ve supported year after year, and it’s never seemed more important than now,” Sanft said. “At 24 Hour Fitness, we know that investing early in the development of young people puts them on a path towards a more active and healthy life. There’s no one better suited to influence that investment positively than a coach. By supporting coaches who are dedicated to developing young talent, we hope to contribute to the growth and success of future soccer stars as well as active adults.”

This isn’t the first time that 24 Hour Fitness has shown its commitment to youth fitness. The fitness operator recently announced a new national partnership with Action for Healthy Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children. As part of the initiative, several 24 Hour Fitness clubs are set to host free, family-friendly Open Gym Days on May 17 in Irvine, San Diego, Denver and Dallas. In addition to gym activations, 24 Hour Fitness is also collaborating with the nonprofit to create accessible wellness resources for schools across the country.

Within select clubs, 24 Hour Fitness is launching Recovery24 and Premium Fit24, giving members boutique-quality recovery amenities and performance tools. Recovery24 gives members access to Hyperice Normatec compression therapy and Human Touch massage chairs in a spa-inspired setting, while Premium Fit24 offers members fully connected, intelligent training machines with built-in tutorials, personalized progression programs and workout tracking.
Beyond amenities, the fitness operator has also expanded its partnership with virtual nutrition coaching platform Dietitian Live and plans to roll out the program to more than 250 locations this year, providing members with virtual sessions with registered dietitians.
