LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township Park District is inviting the community to its Challenge Fitness grand re-opening on Friday for a day of activities and fitness.
The day will kick off with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. at the revamped facility at 2021 Lawrence Ave., in Lockport, the park district said. The upgrades include a new fitness facility, outdoor fitness center, community rental room and group fitness room.
The day also be filled with free drop-in lessons and sampler classes. Here’s a look at what will be going on:
- Free refreshments in the Community Room (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Free Open Swim (10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Fitness Orientations, InBody Scans and Personal Trainer Demos (10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Group Fitness Sampler Classes:
- 10:45 a.m. – Total Body Conditioning
- 11:30 a.m. – Power Pilates
- 12:15 p.m. – Lengthen2Strength
- Free Drop-in Tennis Lessons (every 30 minutes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Free Drop-in Pickleball Drills (every 30 minutes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
The park district said the first 50 new memberships will also receive a Challenge Fitness T-shirt, towel, summer outdoor pool pass and a 1-month buddy workout pass.
“This is more than just a ribbon cutting—it’s a celebration of community wellness,” said organizers at Lockport Township Park District. “Whether you’re a longtime member or visiting for the first time, now’s your chance to explore everything Challenge Fitness has to offer!”
