May is National Bike Month.
INDIANAPOLIS — May is National Bike Month, and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization used the occasion to hold a Bike To Work Week pop-up.
IMPO has a ride guide open for public crowdsourcing, where people in the community can help add bike routes and locations for amenities like bike parking and tire pumps.
They’re also keeping safety at top of mind, not only for cyclists but for the drivers out on the road as well.
“I think it’s just a reminder that there are more modes of transportation than just the car,” said IMPO’s Anna Gremling. “And so whether it be for commuting purposes or lifestyle choices to get out and be familiar with the areas and some of the safe cycling routes.”
