A Sacramento rapper who was formerly incarcerated with the Menendez brothers is celebrating their resentencing. On Tuesday, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Jesic reduced the brothers’ sentences from life in prison without parole to 50 years to life, making them immediately eligible for parole.”Going through the board myself, I can assure everyone here that the brothers will do a great job when they get to board,” said Anerae Brown, also known as X-Raided. He spoke at a press conference following the judge’s ruling.The rapper has previously credited the brothers for his own release from prison. In 1992, X-Raided was convicted of a murder he still says he didn’t commit. He told “Extra” he was paroled in 2018, in part, due to a letter of support from Erik and Lyle Menendez.X-Raided said that during their time behind bars, the brothers have been committed to rehabilitation.”The fact that they pursued so many different rehabilitative opportunities, that they instituted so many different programs and made it this far, is going to produce a sort of hope in a hopeless environment,” the rapper said. “This is a victory for restorative justice.
