The town of Nolensville celebrated new amenities at Gregory Park with a ribbon cutting that took place on Saturday morning at the park. Last August, the town of Nolensville’s Board of Commissioners accepted a $10,000 donation from Mill Creek Brewing Co., with which the town added two concrete game-top tables with built-in seating and a picnic table at Gregory Park.
This summer, additional concrete cornhole boards are scheduled for installation.
In attendance at the ribbon cutting was Nolensville Mayor Halie Gallik, Vice Mayor Jessica Salamida, Commissioner Russell Gill, and owners of Mill Creek Brewing Co., Kunal, Mark and Dru Patel, as well as several community members and Nolensville police officers.
Gill said the donation from Mills Creek Brewing Co. means a lot to him because it means a lot for Nolensville.
“It’s also an excellent example of a public-private partnership, and hopefully we’ll be able to see more of these types of events and investments in our town,” he added.
After celebrating their 10-year anniversary, Mills Creek Brewing Co. decided to donate all their anniversary event ticket proceeds to Nolensville parks with a mission to give back to the local community. Co-owner Kunal Patel said the installation of these park amenities is very important to him and co-owners Mark and Dru Patel.
“We make craft beer, but our biggest mission is to give back to our local community. That is who we are as a brand, as a company. We don’t look at it as just a business but as family, and so giving back is always going to be priority,” Kunal said.
Gregory Park’s new enhancements showcase the town of Nolensville’s desire for continued recreational developments where park visitors can better relax throughout the seasons.
“Mill Creek Brewery was wonderful to provide a $10,000 donation for concrete picnic tables and checkerboards in Gregory Park,” Gallik said, “It was a great opportunity for a local business to partner together with the town to bring something to the community that otherwise we wouldn’t be able to do. It’s great to be able to celebrate our local businesses celebrating 10 years.”
Gregory Park is located at 1900 Johnson Industrial Blvd. in Nolensville.
