Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Destinations list, which recognizes fewer than 1% of the site’s 8 million listings, named Las Vegas the third-best travel destination in the country for 2025, placing it above the Florida Keys, Nashville and San Francisco.
The travel company based its selections on consistently high ratings and positive traveler reviews over the past year.

According to Tripadvisor, Las Vegas is not only one of the best places to visit in Nevada, but one of the best in the nation. The travel company noted Sin City’s Michelin-starred restaurants, extravagant scenery, 24/7 wedding chapels, immersive art experiences and outdoor recreation as reasons the Southern Nevada city rated so high.
What is the most-visited city in Nevada?
In January, more than 3 million people visited Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. About 41 million tourists visited the city in 2024. By comparison, Las Vegas received about 36 million more visitors than Reno in 2023.

Though Las Vegas received honors from Tripadvisor, it is not the only Nevada town that has received national recognition for being a worthwhile place to visit. The Silver State is full of charming towns that have earned accolades, including Carson City, which was named HGTV’s “Most Charming Town”; Ely’s Rack’s Bar and Grill, recognized by Food Network as the most charming small town restaurant in Nevada; and Lake Tahoe, which placed in the top 10 vacation destinations in the United States, according to U.S. News & World Report.

When visiting Tripadvisor’s third-best destination in the U.S. for 2025, you can also see Las Vegas’ iconic, historical landmarks, including the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, perhaps the most recognizable Nevada symbol. This recognition is partly because the sign’s design was not copyrighted, so the iconic artistry of the neon signage has been widely used in Las Vegas marketing for more than half a century.
